AHHHHHHH!!!! We’re soooo baaaacck 🥰🥰🥰🥰. I didn’t hate One Of A Kind, but it took me a few listens to really enjoy it. I haven’t listened to it much since I decided I like it. I need to relisten to it again, since we’re getting to the time of the year when it’s time to start making 2024 best of lists.

But TTYL feels like it picks up right where Loossemble left off. This is the album I wanted as the follow-up. “TTYL” is hands down one of my favorite songs released this year. Let’s jump into why.

Skipping “FANATICISM” because it’s just an instrumental that does really do anything exciting for me. “TTYL” is so fun and catchy. I keep talking about this hyperpop/Y2K vibes and when it comes to Kpop, LOONA was one of the first out of the 4th gen groups to lean into that sound. Check out my fave LOONA songs article for more on that. Don’t listen to the songs on that article through the official accounts because we’re still boycotting Blockberry, though.

Anyway, to “TTYL”, I immediately felt the LOONA vibes strong in this track. And then when they showcased them running in the music video…

Ooooo we’re so fooking back. I was squealing in excitement. The music video’s structure also felt like a OT12 LOONA video. A bit confusing, running, trying to find all the members, recurring themes like that. The choreography is good, the girls look amazing. One of the first couple of TikToks I saw from this era was Hyeju going viral for her melanin, and I’m obsessed with her embracing that life. Plus her center parts in the choreo? Chef’s kiss.

Since we’re on the topics of visuals in “TTYL” I’m on a winning streak. There isn’t a hair color, style, or makeup decision here I don’t like. I think every look suits the girls well. I love this white platinum hair on ViVi, she’s killin it. I also love her denim look in the thumbnail. I need that in my closet, stat.

My fave group look is the all white (except for Hyeju’s black tube top, what’s that about?) look. It’s so cute. It feels like Free People. The denim look reminds me of Urban Outfitters’s BDG brand, which is heavily inspired by Y2K. Super trendy, love it. The all black look they have about halfway through “TTYL” is cute too.

But the white look feels a bit more whimsical with the ruffles and lace. Where the black look feels like they were going for a more baddie/cool girl vibe with studs and ties. The more I watch the video, the more details I notice. The jewelry and accessories here are cute too. Lots of silver, black, and white. And the butterfly hair clips? I see you.

My only “TTYL” complaint with “TTYL” is that it’s such an earworm, it’s so addicting. I feel like I gotta give disclaimers to people before they listen to it, lol. This will be in my top 5 2024 fave songs for sure.

Cotton Candy” feels like a LOOSSEMBLE track. It’s got the LOOSSEMBLE flavor to it. While “TTYL” feels like a bridge to LOONA, “Cotton Candy” isn’t something I think LOONA would make. Maybe more of a subunit song, like for YYXY. There’s something still about the subunits having the best songs, idk what was up with that, but it’s a hill I’ll die on. Same with SEVENTEEN, but that’s a topic for another day.

But I love “Cotton Candy” and “Confessions” following it in track list order is a choice. I think it’s on purpose, like what PIXY did with CHOSEN KARMA. To my ears, it sounds too close to “Cotton Candy” in the way the chorus is structured. But I do like the song a lot. As of writing, the Wikipedia page for TTYL isn’t made.

So outside of getting my hands on a physical copy (which I will at some point) or chasing down an update account to see who all worked on what, I’m just assuming whoever worked on “Cotton Candy”, worked closely on “Confessions” as well. Which probably isn’t too far off at their Wikis for Loossemble and One of a Kind. There’s a little bit of crossover, but not much.

Omg the blush in this pic ⬆️, their makeup team gets it. Now “Hocus Pocus” feels like a sister song to “I’ll Be There” I love a New Jack Swing moment. If you put a retro sounding song on the album, I’ll be there (for it).

“Secret Diary” is the last song on TTYL and I have a similar feeling to Hello, World where this album feels like it’s missing a song to really complete it. But I have fun with “Secret Diary”. It’s kind of a different vibe for Loossemble with the trap beat, but I like it.

Overall, I like that TTYL meshes the sounds of their debut album and the comeback sounds into this third album. We’re getting a better picture of what Loossemble’s sound is, and what they’re bringing to the industry.

I’m continuing to be excited for Loossemble’s releases. I think I gotta got back and share my thoughts on ARTMS’s debut. Because I did like it. I think it was because it was so close to my birthday, I forgot to talk about it. May/June was sooo busy.

I also realized I never talked about ENHYPEN’s ROMANCE: UNTOLD either other than on Twitter. So guess what the next article is on? lol

But what are y’alls thoughts on TTYL and “TTYL”? Love it? Hate it? Who’s your fave member of LOOSSEMBLE? Tell me everything in the comments! Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter and Instagram. Next up is Enha.

Take care!
