Post minisode 3: TOMORROW, it feels like TXT songs take longer for them to hit for me. I don’t hate “Love Language”, but it is making me appreciate “Over the Moon” and The Star Chapter: SANCTUARY era more. So maybe that was the plan all along, lol.
The more I think about “Love Language” the more I think about EXO’s “Ko Ko Bop” and KAI’s “Wait On Me”, and the album of the same name. Dammit, that means I’m going to have to specify which Kai I’m talking about in this article. I usually just refer to Huening Kai as Kai and Exo’s Kai also as Kai. I’m bad with capitals on soloists names like KAI. I’ll do my best in this article.
Anyway, I love the instrumentals. The horn thing is fine. I thought at first it was just Tropical House, because of the horns. I do see/hear the Justin Bieber “Sorry” comparisons. But I love “Sorry” and Justin’s House era he had going on there briefly.
From the first previews we heard, I wondered where the Afro-house was I was promised, lol. But after watching this video with some Afro-house songs played, I do hear it in “Love Language”. It’s very subtle. I wish they focused more on this versus having that horn, as part of the selling point. It’s a lot on the senses, having both Yeonjun and that horn.
I just, I really don’t like Yeonjun’s voice for the first chorus . I think they should have had Taehyun sing it twice (as like the main vocals we hear) or had Taehyun and Kai sing it, not Yeonjun. The rest of Yeonjun’s parts in the song are great. I think his low register worked better for this song.
And Yeonjun’s part kind killing the song for me is like how I hated Chanyeol’s part in “Ko Ko Bop” for the longest time. I’ve gone more in depth about that, here. I did get past it, but it took me a long time to get there. I fear it’s the same with “Love Language”.

Huening Kai is credited as one of the writers on “Love Language“. No surprised there, his pen doesn’t fail. But I was a bit suspicious when he said it’s not his taste. Because “Sugar Rush Ride” also wasn’t really taste, and that’s one of my favorite title tracks they have. So I was thinking I was going to be hooked. But it’s fine. We’ll see how I feel by December and it’s time to rank these songs for my best of articles.
Overall, I just think KAI did this concept, sound, better. I immediately went to go listen to Wait On Me after checking out “Love Language”. I think I was expecting something like the subtle and sexy sound of “Forty One Winks” with an Afro-house twist on it. And “Love Language” wasn’t really that. Which is fine. The rest of the song I really enjoy, no notes.
The music video setting is GORGEOUS. I want to visit Spain so badly. I’ve seen some Call Me By Your Name comparisons… I guess? I mean that’s just what the Mediterranean looks like. This quickly jumped up the list of fave TXT music videos.
And we finally get to see what all those pictures they took were about. This was a cute music video as well. I love that they got to run around Europe and sight see. And I’m just a sucker for music videos like this anyway.
What are y’alls thoughts on “Love Language”? I feel like TXT doesn’t do digital singles a lot. That in itself is a nice surprise. I’m assuming it’ll be on the next album. No idea when that’ll be, maybe early fall? I feel like we have a full-length album next before some more member solos drop. Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter, Bluesky, & Instagram. Next up, we’re back to talking about f5ve.
Take Care,
