June 2025 Best Kpop Comebacks & Debuts

I said on Twitter I hadn’t made the images for the June or July articles yet. I decided to do something a little different with June. I wanted summer imagery, but I didn’t want the beach yet. And with probably my song of the year dropping, it just made sense to go with lemons. So let’s get into the music!

ENHYPEN – DESIRE: UNLEASH

I’m not sure why the music video for the Korean version of “Bad Desire” isn’t embedding into this post, but it’s here. I actually listen to the English version more thanks to TikTok edits. They’ve convinced me it’s my favorite version.

DESIRE:UNLEASH as a whole has grown on me, but it’s not an album I’ve gone back to frequently this year. My most listened to songs are “Outside“, the biggest grower for me—I’m obsessed with her, and “Too Close“. I’m still mostly riding the waves of ROMANCE: UNTOLD and Daydream.

JUNNY – null

Junny is back with a full-length album, and it’s pretty good. I mostly loved the first half, with “Passion, Pain & Pleasure”, “Sour”, and “Energy” being my favorites off null. “Energy” is straight up my favorite song off the album.

I love Junny’s R&B sound. I wish I enjoyed “limbo” feat. Colde, but it was a bit too slow paced for my liking/I’m not in the mood for it right now. But from start to finish, it’s a solid album. If you already love Junny’s music, you’ll enjoy this one as well.

ILLIT – bomb

Ah, yes, ILLIT, they’re allergic to making bad music. It was difficult picking a favorite song off bomb. I didn’t care for “oops!” but I love the rest of the album. But at least as of writing, “Billyeoon Goyangi (Do the Dance)” and “Jellyous” are tied for my favorite song from bomb. The “back off” part in “Jellyous” is sooo catchy and so easy to get stuck in your head.

Yeojin – Dancing in the dark

Another City Pop queen???!!! I love Miss Yeojin. Idk WHAT the status is with Loossemble, but I’m so happy Yeojin dropped this banger to hold us over.

ITZY – Girls WIll Be Girls

ITZY’s baaaack. I forget if it was this one or “Kiss & Tell” I heard for the first time at my Kpop club event I went to the other week, but it was flawless. As I mentioned at the end of the last article, I spent most of June & July listening mostly to Stray Kids, ATEEZ, & Kai (EXO). So I wasn’t in a super rush to listen to new music. So my first real listen of the entire album was in the car while driving around running errands.

But “Girls Will Be Girls”, “Kiss & Tell”, and “Locked N Loaded” are my faves from Girls Will Be Girls. I can’t help but think of that Bob’s Burgers episode when Gene was creating his own girl group when I hear “Girls Will Be Girls” lmao. But it feels like ITZY, like STAYC, is leaning into that house/ball culture sound (Chungha too). I’m here for it.

ATEEZ – GOLDEN HOUR: Part.3

I’m back in my ATINY era 😊🤗. Hearing “Lemon Drop” confirmed that; seeing them live sealed it. I remember my first listen/watch of the music video, I was hooked.

It’s been so long since ATEEZ released a song like that for me. I have come around to GOLDEN HOUR: Part 2 and a lot of music post “Bouncy”. So eventually I’ll have to cover those on ATK as well. But yeah, we’re sooo back.

What a mood, literally me during “Masterpiece”.

I’m so sad they didn’t perform “Masterpiece” live. I need it so bad. It’s my second favorite song from this album. “Now this house ain’t a home” slapped live, though. So I’m happy I saw that. All of Part.3 is good. In Your Fantasy is even better, but that’s for next month.

XLOV – 1&Only

I’ve been waiting for THE XLOV song to suck me in, and “1&Only” is that girl. I love love love the song and the chore for it. The styling in the music video is good too. I adore the layering going on. It feels like onelyoneof walked so XLOV could run. They are the new supreme, I fear.

ARTMS – Club Icarus

My favorite songs are the track 3-5 run, straight fire. “Obsessed”, “Goddess”, and “Verified Beauty”. I’m a simple lass; you give me LOONA-like songs, I’m gonna run them into the ground.

Kang Daniel – Glow to Haze

Oh we’re soooooo baaaack. It’s been ages (it feels) since Daniel had an entire album I loved start to finish. I’ve only listened to it completely once so far, but it will be on my fave albums of the year list. I love dance!Daniel. Because it’s too early for me to pick a fave song from Glow to Haze, I just left the title track, “Episode” here. The music video is pretty interesting. I really like his brown plaid (?) suit.

NOWZ – IGNITION

Oh, I’m feelin this. “Fly to the youth (feat. YUQI of IDLE)” is my current fave song of theirs. I don’t remember if I listened to their 2024 debut, but I love what I’m hearing on IGNITION. “Problem Child” is the type of noise music I’ve been missing. So I’ll have to keep an eye out for them.

Yugyeom – Interlunar

Interlunar was a bit lackluster for me. I felt like I forgot it almost immediately after I listened to it despite me liking it overall. Yugyeom’s weakest release as a soloist to date, which is still like a B- for me, lol.

I have all the songs saved on it except for “Set Me Free (feat. Gaeko), I don’t remember why. I need to relisten to it as a whole, but there hasn’t been anything to grab me back to it. Compared to other releases out. So idk. Maybe when it comes time for the end of the year articles, I’ll feel different about it.

Hearts2Hearts – Style

Yeah, I like this one too. That’s all I got 💁🏾‍♀️.

KATSEYE – BEAUTIFUL CHAOS

Oh, KATSEYE, I’ve fallen quite hard for you. The songs I really love like “Gabriela” and “Gameboy” hit so hard for me. But then there are songs like “Mean Girls” that fall flat for me, but overall, I’m obsessed with them. I still need to go back and listen to their debut 🙈. “Gameboy” is likely going to be a top song for me this year as well. I can feel it.

fromis_9 – Strawberry Mimosa

I think this is the only fromis_9 album I’ve had one song I liked off it 😬. So that’s not great, lol. Fortunately, “Strawberry Mimosa” slaps. I hope I enjoy their next release more.

Wonho – Better Than Me

Idk who TF Wonho’s English teacher is now, but I almost didn’t recognize him on this track. Fluent king 📢 📢 📢 📢. Anyway, Wonho is in his *NSYNC baagggg. I loveeee this song so much. I need more people talking and streaming this one.

Han Seungwoo – Feel your love

Aw yeah, Seungwoo is finally back with something I like, lol. I’m such an R&B!Seungwoo stan. This is a slower paced song, but you can still vibe to it. I didn’t care for the rest of the album, but I hardly ever like an entire Seungwoo album…I don’t think he has one as of writing.
